My name is Kristen Kimberlie Bay.  I graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and an ESL Endorsement in 2014.  I have lived in Utah for 20 years and spent the rest of my time in Southern California.  My husband and I have been married for 6 years.  We have a three-year-old son and  baby girl born in April 2020.  Most of our extended family live throughout Utah. Cooking and baking are a passion of mine.  I like to be outdoors and go to concerts.   I like hiking up in the mountains and exploring new places.   I enjoy being around close friends and with my family.  I love to relax at a good barbecue in the warm sun.  Spending time inside watching a movie or reading a good book are also hobbies of mine.  Some activities I enjoy are playing cards, working on jigsaw puzzles, health and fitness, and journaling.  I have a degree in Business Management and after taking a couple of years off of school, decided to go back and study elementary education.  I really enjoy working with children and spending time getting to know them. My brother and I used to play school when we were younger and I have a grandmother who is a teacher, so teaching has always been a passion of mine.  I feel very strongly about public education and believe that it is the foundation of our country.  I believe that every child is entitled to a quality education in a safe and trusting environment.  I am very excited to be at Oakwood Elementary and I look forward to working with all of the students and parents this upcoming year!
